Shriya gets training in Kalaripayattu

Lovely actress Shriya is excited with her role in the Kannada film, Chandra where she plays a princess. She has been shooting in Mysore where a palace set has been erected and also at beautiful temples in Karnataka. For a Kalari fight sequence, the actress has trained in Kalaripayattu, which is a martial art form of Kerala. These sequences are hard work and Shriya is putting in a lot of hard work, much to her director Roopa Iyer’s delight.
It will be remembered that Genelia had also learned Kalaripayattu for Urumi where she also played a princess called Arakkal Ayesha. Santhosh Sivan’s film did wonders for Genelia and she got rave reviews. Shriya must be keeping her fingers crossed for Chandra to make her the darling of critics and fans alike.
