Even as several Telugu films are getting dubbed into Tamil, here’s one that’s now being officially remade in Kollywood.
The remake rights of Brindavanam, directed by Vamsi Paidipally, has been bought by producer Ramesh. The film, starring Jr NTR, Samantha and Kajal in the lead, has music by Thaman.
Ramesh, who has produced films including Uthamaputhiran, Osthe and Ishtam in Kollywood, says, “Brindavanam was a massive hit in Tollywood, and is a subject that will appeal to all sections of the audience. It’s the story of a guy who agrees to pose as his girfriend’s boyfriend, only to fall in love with the friend later. It’s a pucca commercial entertainer, and I’m sure the young audience will lap it up here.”
He adds, “I want this film to be a big-budget entertainer, and have approached one of the top stars in K-Town to play the lead. Once the formalities are finished with, we will make an official announcement soon.”
