Mahesh, who rose to stardom even with his debut film Angadi Theru, (thanks to Vasanta Balan), has been missing in action – although his counterpart in the film, Anjali, is an actress to reckon with in K’town today.
Mahesh is back with a bang in a movie Veyilodu Vilayadu (VV), where he essays an aspiring volleyball player. Interestingly, Mahesh is avolleyball player in real life too —- he has represented the state team in several matches. “Veyilodu… is close to my heart since it was volleyball that gave me an entry into tinsel town,”
Mahesh told DC. It seems that Balan selected him for Angadi after watching one of his matches. VV is directed by debutant Ramkumar and has medico-turned-actressTananya of Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum fame as the female lead. Actor Vimal makes a special appearance in a song sequence.
Karthik Raja returns to composing after a gap with Veyilodu… The highlight of the film’s music is that Karthik’s entire family, which includes his dad Isaignani Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Venkat Prabhu and Premgi, have been roped in to render various numbers. In fact, sources said that the maestro himself has penned the lyrics for the song he has crooned.
