There were talks in the industry that Ram Gopal Varma is planning to start his dream project Ramayana with Nag as Ravana and Gopichand and Anushka playing the role of Rama and Sita respectively. Then, for some time there was no news regarding this projectand both Nagarjuna and RGV got busy with respective projects. Now, there is a buzz about the movie again.
The movie will start in the month of August and will be a Hindi-Telugu and Tamil trilingual. It will re-narrate the story of Ramayana in a modern setting. The movie will be based in Bombay and not Hyderabad as stated earlier. It is also stated that a Tamil actor probably Prabhu Ganeshan will be roped in for the character of Hanuman. Ramu's friend and protege, JD chakravarthi will also play a vital role in the film. As declared earlier the movie will feature Anushka as Sita and Gopichand as Rama. But, there is a twist in the character of Sita according to our inner sources.
The shooting will be completed by January Next year and will be released soon after that. RGV is also taking special care regarding this film as the movie might give him a hold again in Telugu land.
