Ajmal is a happy man these days! The actor, whose career is on an upswing post Ko, has no qualms about acting in negative roles.
He acted as a stylish villain in Ram Charan Tej’s Raccha. Ajmal maintains that you should aim to shine in whatever role you get, and the rest will fall into place. And, it looks like he has been proven right.
His kitty is full withabout half-a-dozen flicks where he plays the lead hero. “Rajini sir and Shahrukh Khan are my role models in this case!
They started their career in negative roles and today, they are superstars. I have a long way to go!” opined the star when DC met him in the city, at the location of his upcoming film Vetri Selvan.
The climax, which was shot with 500 junior artistes, was being canned by ad filmmaker-turned-director, Rudran.
The story is about three individuals who are abandoned by society, and who bring about a revolution. Ajmal plays a student, and Radhika Apte is a criminal lawyer. Ace singer Mano, who returns to acting after a long hiatus, was also spotted on the occasion.
On his stint in T’town, Ajmal says, “Rangam (Telugu remake of Ko) gave me the biggest recognition there. When Raccha was offered, it was just that I wanted to be part of a big-budget film that would stabilise my market in Tollywood. Talks are on for a few straight films.”
