Aamir Khan in Aakasamantha remake

The actor may reprise Prakash Raj’s role in the Bollywood remake of the film
Aamir Khan is all set to star in the Bollywood remake of “Aakasamantha” (dubbed version of “Abhiyum Naanum”), if sources are to be believed. There is a strong buzz that Prakash Raj, who produced the film and starred in it, will be directing this Hindi remake. And word is out that the Bollywood star will play the role of the father that Prakash Raj essayed in the original.
This critically acclaimed 2008 film, directed by Radhamohan explored the bond shared between a father and his daughter. While, Trisha played Prakash Raj’s daughter in the South film, it will be interesting to see which actress gets cast as Aamir’s daughter.
“Aamir Khan was thoroughly impressed after watching “Aakasamantha recently”. He is looking forward to kickstart the Hindi version, which will be produced by Boney Kapoor,” a source told us. When we contacted Prakash Raj to confirm whether Aamir Khan would indeed be reprising his role in the Hindi version, the actor-producer said, “yes” but refused to divulge more details on the project.
Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor’s official spokesperson said, “We are producing the film, but not with Aamir Khan. We haven’t done the casting yet and can’t disclose anything now.”
